Effectiveness of a visualisation diagram

State 5 things that make a visualisation diagram effective.
  • Can visual what it will look like layout wise and house style of he final product
  • Adaptable
  • Can get feedback (TA and client)
  • Helps the graphic designer and coder
  • Has annotations- connotations
How can visualisation diagrams be ineffective
  • If annotations are not detailed enough or doesnt expand on connotations/ how it will appeal to the audience
  • Structure isnt always clear, would need to be supported by a site map to clearly show structure
  • Only shows what product looks like, not much info on how it is interactive especially for a website or app

Structure of evaluation question

  • Introduction- state why the document is important in developing stages of making the product
  • Effectiveness- Give 5 reasons why the document is effective/useful (support with examples from the brief)
  • Ineffective- Give 2-3 reasons of how the document may not be effective/useful
  • Conclusion- Overall, xyz is a effective document in development stages of making a xyz

LO4: Site Diagram

  1. A site structure diagram is a pre production technique used to plan the layout of a website, games and apps. "A diagram that represents the navigation for the end user when using an interatcive product"
  2. Media products they use site structure diagrams for is a computer programmer/coder. Needs to have instructions on how the end user is going to use it (audience)
  3. Navigation means how we get around something to different places- hyperlinks, buttons,
  4. The end user would be the audience
If I have to draw a site strucutures diagram in the exam the annotations should include:
  • Why are the main pages included- how they are linked to the scenario/ brief
  • What the hyperlinks are for and where they will take the audience
  • Explain how pages are linked together- end user
Interactive feautures would be on each page (photos/videos/ sounds)- Linked to the brief
Examples of how the layout and features would appeal too the target audience
How the brand will be the same across all pages (colours/layout)
